Kunle Afolayan is from Kwara State of Igbomina-Yoruba descent. Ade Love the famous theater and film director and producer is the father of Kunle Afolayan. he once worked in the banking sector and also has major in economics.

He moved into filmmaking full-time and toook a course at the New York Film Academy.

Kunle Afolayan has been active in the Nigerian film industry since 2005.

He made a mark in most of his productions, Most of his popular titles including: The Figurine: Araromire and Phone Swap and others,
