Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi was born in 1951. he is a Seating senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Kebbi North senatorial district. He is from Kebbi State.

He obtained his WASC in 1969 from Naagarta College, Sokoto. He proceeded to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science. And his Doctorate in 1983 from the same institution.

He was an associate Professor of Agric Economics from the Ahmadu Bello Univeristy, Zaria. He retired as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

He has as his legislative interest,. Agric, Public Service and National Economy.

He is Also the recipient of the award of Officer of the Order of the Niger(OON).

He contested for the Kebbi North Senatorial seat In the 2015 Elections, and won under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.(APC).


On the 7/2/2019 The Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial district,. Abdullahi Yahaya emerged as the 9th Senate Leader, thereby putting to rest insinuations that Senator Abdullahi Adamu representing Nasarawa North might clinch the position.
